The 2021 archery season finally commenced for Washington High School on Saturday and the Demons wasted no time establishing themselves by winning the Marion Tournament.
Washington placed first out of six teams with a bullseye score of 3282. Senior Alexis Ide placed first out of 92 high school girls with a 286 score and 18 bullseyes. Brian Fritz tallied a 279 that ranked him sixth out of 86 high school boys. Other top scores included Iris Peterson 277, Lane Frana 276, Jack Strabala 273, Chase Messamaker 272, and Sam Frana 272.

Results from the Iowa State Dance competition in Des Moines from November were finally released last week and Washington had plenty of division I ratings to go around.
An award ceremony took place virtually on Saturday for the November 17th Championship event. The Demons placed 10th in the Class IX Pom with a score of 248 points out of a possible 300 to be awarded a division I rating. The same rating was given for Class IV Jazz when Washington finished 10th with 250 points. Sophomore Abby Renoux also competed in the Class VI Dance solo division and received a division I rating for her efforts.
