Fogging Schedule For 17th – 20th May 2021 - Mainland
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment wishes to advise the general public that as part of the its mosquito control programme for the adult Aedes aegypti mosquito, the Insect Vector Control Unit will be conducting fogging operations at public facilities in the following areas on the mainland, commencing at 5:00 p.m. daily.
Monday, 17th May, 2021 – Layou, Cane Hall, Belair, Biabou and Edinboro
Tuesday, 18th May, 2021 – Buccament Bay, Vermont, Calder, Stubbs, Argyle, Diamond and Ottley Hall
Wednesday, 19th May, 2021 – Clare Valley, Kingstown, Colonaire, Park Hill, South Rivers and New Montrose
Thursday, 20th May, 2021 – Questelles, Arnos Vale, Mesopotamia and New Montrose

The Caribbean Development Bank is supporting St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ push to expand and increase its range of renewable energy options through a planned solar energy project.
On Thursday, December 10 the Bank’s Board of Directors approved financing of US$8.6 million to St. Vincent Electricity Services Ltd (VINLEC) for the supply and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at buildings owned by VINLEC in the vicinity of the Argyle International Airport.
The funding will also cover the establishment of a battery energy storage system (BESS) to be installed at the Cane Hall sub-station. The solar PV systems will displace some of the diesel fuel used for electricity generation. The BESS is expected to optimise the operation of the solar systems and also improve the energy efficiency of VINLEC’s system by providing spinning reserve thereby reducing the diesel fuel used by the generators for this purpose.
