Cynthia Erivo, Kurt Elling, Brian McKnight, Ides of March, Madeleine Peyroux, Midori, Joshua Bell, Pinchas Zukerman, the Chicago Sinfonietta and the Joffrey Ballet are among the artists in addition to the previously announced Chicago Symphony Orchestra residency who will be participating in a season of music under the stars at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, it was announced Thursday.
After the pandemic forced the venue’s shutdown and the cancellation of the 2020 season more than one year ago, Ravinia will reopen July 1 for an abbreviated season this year 64 concerts through Sept. 26, highlighting Chicago artists, music by women, and Asian, Black and Latinx composers.

Summer concerts at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park are back.
After a silent summer of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Meijer Gardens has announced the resumption of outdoor live music starting in July, with three different series of shows:
National touring acts and the Grand Rapids Symphony in the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts series, local artists performing for Tuesday Evening Music Club, and “Sunday Strings” sessions held throughout the gardens.
O.A.R., Kansas, The Verve Pipe, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Black Violin with the Blind Boys of Alabama are on the docket for the national series which kicks off July 1, with specific show dates, more artists and the on-sale date for tickets still to be announced.
In a red and blue Karabela dress, local artist Inez Barlatier beckons a virtual audience to embark on a fantastical music journey through Haitian folklore.
Meijer Gardens Announces Tentative 2021 Concerts
Past favorites and a unique new combination of artists have been provisionally scheduled for three separate Summer series of concerts at Meijer Gardens.
Outdoor gatherings are not yet a sure thing in 2021, but Meijer Gardens is anticipating we will be able to get together and enjoy some music in the outdoors under the stars. West Michigan s favorite summertime venue has just released a very eclectic lineup of concerts. There will be three different musical series, spotlighting the symphony, local artists and national acts from classic rock to classical hip-hop.
