North Davidson will now be alone in first place when looking at the Central Carolina 2A Conference softball standings. The Black Knights defeated Oak Grove, 5-0, on Thursday night. North Davidson went into this week ranked No. 5 in the midseason HighSchoolOT Top 25 West softball poll, while Oak Grove was outside the compiled list despite only having one blemish on its overall record. North Davidson extended its winning streak to eight games following a five-run decision against rival Oak Grove. The Black Knights fell in their home and season opener versus No. 3 East Forsyth (4A) by a 4-1 score.
