The Rastafari Council, Ghana (RCG) has condemned the recent assassination attempt on the life of radio personality and musician, Ahmed Abubakar popularly known as Blakk Rasta.
Blakk Rasta escaped an attack by an unknown assailant who invaded Zylofon FM’s premises on Tuesday, 5 January 2021.
A statement issued by the Rastafari Council signed by its President, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey said: “The Council will like to urge the Ghana Police Service to vigorously investigate this matter so that the perpetrator may be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The seriousness of this offense demands a swift execution of justice which, in turn, will serve as a strong deterrent to other would-be criminals”.

Popular reggae artiste and radio presenter, Blakk Rasta, on Tuesday, January 5, escaped an attack by an unknown assailant who invaded Zylofon FM 39;s premises on a mission to harm him.
A man who invaded the premises of Accra-based radio station Zylofon FM and succeeded in taking the station off the air on Tuesday (January 5, 2020) was shot by private security as he attempted to make an escape.
In a statement, Zylofon Media, the parent company of Zylofon FM said the unidentified man broke into the company around 4 pm and threatened the life of its popular radio host Blakk Rasta (known in his private life as Abubakar Ahmed).
The statement added that after a tussle, he was shot by the Head of Security of Zylofon FM with a licensed gun before the East Legon District Police arrested him.
