Khan Tips Asal as Future World Champion
Jansher Khan has tipped Mostafa Asal to become World Champion.
The record eight-time World Champion was an honoured guest at a recent exhibition event held in his native Pakistan where he saw the 19-year-old defeat former World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy in the final.
Now Khan, whose 97-month reign as World No.1 remains unsurpassed, reckons that Asal will one day follow in his footsteps to capture the sport’s most illustrious prize.
The Pakistani squash legend also believes that reigning British Open champion ElShorbagy will once again start among the favourites for the 2021 PSA World Championship presented by The Walter Family when it gets underway in Chicago in July.

Farag on Return of World Champs and Tough Black Ball Draw

World No.1 Ali Farag has revealed his excitement at the news the 2020-21 PSA World Championships will be held in Chicago between July 10-17.
Tarek Momen is the reigning World Champion, having claimed the global title in Doha in 2019 but a year earlier Farag claimed his only World title with a 3-1 victory over Momen when the tournament was held in the Windy City for the first time, with the final being showcased in the Great Hall of the city’s iconic Union Station.
While a $1million prize-pot is once again up for grabs and split equally across the male and female events as the game’s showpiece event is presented by the Walter Family for a second time.

There are some new leaders at the Family YMCA. In September, Chris Daniels became the CEO of the Family Y and in January, Karen Easton became president of the board.
“We wanted to introduce ourselves in our new roles,” Easton said. “We also wanted people to know what’s new at the Y and how we’ve been coping with COVID.”

Daniels spent more than six years as finance director at the Family Y before stepping into his role as CEO.
The federal government has extended its closure of the border for non-essential travel monthly over the past year, the latest to March 21. This month, Ottawa cancelled the entire cruise season, banning big ships from May until October. Black Ball Ferry Line, which operates the Coho, and Clipper Navigation say they will be ready to sail when the border restrictions are eased, and the U.S. Department of Transportation said Monday there is still a possibility it could offer a fall service to Sidney from the San Juan Islands. “There is a slight hope we could sail to Sidney in the fall, but that would depend on how soon the border could open,” said Ian Sterling, a spokesman for Washington State Ferries.
