In August, the owner of the building on Hollywood Boulevard in Fort Walton Beach that Project Hope had been leasing since July 2016 for its recovery center gave the organization a 90-day notice to vacate. In mid-November, Project Hope finished moving out of the building before it was demolished to make way for a planned mini-storage business.
Project Hope then housed its clients in a rented Airbnb in Destin for a little more than a week before moving just before Thanksgiving to its current temporary spot, the Tri-State Christian Camp and Retreat Center in DeFuniak Springs.
Project Hope staff members who are living in Fort Walton Beach have been commuting to the camp.
