OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - A private school known across the Southeast for attracting top talent from around the globe actually resides right here in South Mississippi.
Grace Baptist Academy is a small private school in Ocean Springs that was established in 1968.
”Not many people know about us,” said Brad Shauf, the school’s head basketball coach. “We are really small. We have about 45 students in K through 12.”

38,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in New York State

ALBANY, N.Y. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that New York State has administered 38,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which his office says is the highest total in the nation.
The state expects to see 466,000 doses of the vaccine arrive in the next week, including 346,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine and 120,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
This comes on the same day the country has begun its vaccine program for nursing homes and long term care facilities, including 618 in New York. The program is expected to take six weeks.

James Joseph Ferrari, 73 of Paris, PA passed away Wednesday December 16, 2020 at his home after bravely struggling with a serious illness for many years.
He was born February 4, 1947 in Weirton, WV. Jim was the son of the late Alfred and Sophie Filak Ferrari. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary Verne Ferrari, who were instrumental in raising him.
He was a graduate of McArthur High School in Hollywood, FL. He also attended West Virginia Northern Community College. Jim retired from Weirton Steel Corporation after 40 years. He was grateful for the steel mill and the life it afforded him. Jim married Catherine Johnson in 2004. He began a life with her and her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren loved him unconditionally and he became an important part of their lives. Jim and Cathy lived a life together that they both cherished. Jim loved the Steelers, the Penquins, Pirates, and all sports. He was an avid golfer before he became i
