Thanks to the generosity of Community With A Heart donors, Jennifer Hemphill is back on the road to rebuilding her life after years of dealing with injuries from a traffic crash.
Hemphill, 55, was operating a general contracting and home remodeling company three years ago in the Pinellas Park area when her life took an unexpected turn.
Hemphill was entering a crosswalk on her bicycle when she was struck by a driver who ran a stop sign. She suffered multiple injuries and damage to her neck and back, which has required five surgeries to date.

The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the vast importance of “home” as refuge. It has also made it much harder to ignore the unacceptable fact that more than 35,000 people experience homelessness each night in our country.
Experts and advocates in this field argue now is the time to end and prevent homelessness in Canada once and for all.

In recognition of this, REALTORS Care® Week 2020 focused on the issue of homelessness in Canada and what REALTORS® can do to help ensure all Canadians have a safe and affordable place to call home.

The Quinte and District Association of Realtors (QDAR) has handed over a cheque to Grace Inn for over $6,000.
A press release from the association notes the COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the vast importance of “home” as refuge and as part of Realtors Care Week 2020, QDAR focused on the issue of homelessness in Canada.
As the only emergency homeless shelter in our area, serving both Hastings and Prince Edward counties, Grace Inn Shelter has become part of the social fabric of the community and already this year has provided 5,623 breakfasts to clients who spent the night in their shelter.
