In Canada, exiled Pakistani human rights activist Karima Mehrab Baloch was found dead in Toronto this week. Her husband says she went out on a walk Sunday and never returned home. Her body was found the next day. Baloch fled Pakistan after receiving threats due to her human rights work in her home region of Balochistan. In 2016, the BBC named Baloch as one of the 100 most influential women working in human rights. Earlier this year, another exiled activist from Balochistan, the journalist Sajid Hussain, was found dead in Sweden.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the unscrupulous killing of Karima Mehrab Baloch, former chairperson of Baloch Students Organization, leader of Baloch National Movement (BNM) and Baloch rights activist in Toronto, Canada.
In his statement, he said that according to the statement issued by the Toronto police, Karima Baloch had been missing since 3 pm on Sunday and the police were searching for her on the report of her disappearance.
Today, her body was found which was confirmed by her family too, he said.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan A prominent ethnic Baloch rights activist, Karima Mehrab Baloch, 37, from the conflict-ridden province of Balochistan, Pakistan, was found dead on Dec. 21 after going missing in Toronto a day earlier.
“It’s confirmed that my friend, colleague, and prominent Baloch politician Karima Baloch, is no more among us physically,” Lateef Johar Baloch tweeted. “Toronto police found her dead body in Toronto today. Please pray for her family and friends!”
Toronto police said Karima was last seen on Dec 20 at approximately 3 p.m., in the Bay Street and Queens Quay West area in Toronto. Police did not give a cause of death.
