Bizarre Investigation of Gold Robbery in Karachi Uncovers Unlikely Suspect
The Karachi Police have reportedly ascertained the person behind the robbery of a shop in Gul Centre located near the Teen Talwar monument after its owner had filed an FIR about it.
Allegedly, armed robbers had broken into the shop and stole three kgs of gold after the owner had gone home before iftar on 3 May. The investigation team had then launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

Strangely, the findings showed that the owner of the shop, Asif, had staged the robbery himself with his accomplice Waseem, and stashed the gold at a trade center on Chundrigar Road in Karachi.
Karachi Traffic Police will now patrol roads on bicycles

In a first, Karachi Police will now be patrolling the streets of Saddar on bicycles, while a portable toilet has also been introduced to facilitate traffic cops.
Shedding light on the initiative, Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Traffic Iqbal Dara said that the bicycle squad has been introduced in Saddar to solve the problem of frequent traffic jams that occur almost every day due to narrow lanes.
On Friday, Dara inspected and inaugurated both the facilities at the Metropole Traffic Checkpoint in Saddar.
The DIG Traffic said that in an area like Saddar which is one of the busiest areas of Karachi it is hard for traffic police officers to reach a spot if traffic jams occur there because the streets are very narrow.
Karachi Police Announces Operation to Combat Traffic Jams
Karachi’s roads are home to some of the worst traffic jams in the world. This is mainly because Karachi is the largest and most populous city in Pakistan, but the road encroachments make matters worse.
In a recent promising development, the Karachi Police department has announced the commencement of ‘operation morning,’ whereby the authorities shall clear all encroachments to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the Saddar area of Karachi.
The anti-encroachment operation has reportedly been launched in the Abdullah Haroon Traffic Section, whereby the authorities are making use of heavy machinery to clear all encroachments from the main road.

KARACHI: A recent investigative report submitted to the Sindh High Court (SHC) by Karachi Police has revealed that drugs worth Rs250 million were smuggled from Sindh and Balochistan to Africa and the Middle East with the involvement of international smugglers.
As per the report, the drugs were smuggled via the sea, while the money made through smuggling was invested in real estates in the UAE and Oman.
The report further revealed that the families of people to whom the drugs were sent had been held as hostages by smugglers to guarantee the timely delivery of the drug money.
