KUALA LUMPUR: Two Light Rail Transit (LRT) trains involved in a collision on Monday have successfully been removed from the crash site this morning, three days earlier than scheduled, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong

Wee, in a posting on his Facebook account, said the process of removing the two trains managed to be completed earlier after the staff worked on three shifts non-stop.
“(Train) TR40 has safely reached Subang depot at 3.45 am while TR81 has arrived at Gombak tail track at 4.51 am. Prasarana will focus on track repair work from Kg Baru station to KLCC station.

Speaking to Bernama, he said the government took a serious view of the incident involving the two LRT trains, which collided on Monday (May 24), adding that a thorough investigation was being carried out to find out the cause of the accident. The issue of the collision has already reached the level of the special task force that was formed to investigate the cause and effect of how it could have happened. For more than 20 years, we never heard of an LRT collision, but because it has happened, we feel sad and we want to investigate. In a short time, we should know what happened, ” he said after visiting the accident victims and their families at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital Thursday (May 27).
