A woman in Busawula in Wakiso District has accused security agencies of kidnapping her husband, who she said has been missing since January 9.
Ms Rhoda Namirembe told Daily Monitor yesterday that her husband, Mr Tabula Ssekitoreko, 38, a carpenter, was kidnapped at his workplace in Katwe, a Kampala suburb.
Ms Namirembe, a mother of six, said on the fateful day, her husband went to work early in the morning but at around 12 noon, his workmates called and told her that he had been arrested by armed police wearing black uniforms.
“I started calling him (husband) but he did not pick up his phone. I waited until 10pm and that was when I realised that he had been kidnapped,” Ms Namirembe said.
4 arrested with over 2,000 govt mosquito nets

Four people have been arrested after they were found in possession of 2,100 government mosquito nets.
The suspects have been identified as Israel Musaazi, Christopher Habomugisha, Baker Musoke and Richard Ndigizimana. They were intercepted along Kira road two days ago by the 999 patrol team that became suspicious of a vehicle moving in curfew hours.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, said that when the police checked the Premio vehicle UAG 107D, they found it loaded with government labelled mosquito nets.
Police say the group was tasked them to explain how they had acquired the nets and where they were taking them in wee hours but they had no answers prompting their arrest.
Musician Walukagga wins Kyengera LC III chairperson elections

Kadongokamu musician Mathias Walukagga has won the Kyengera town council LC III chairperson election.
Walukagga who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket polled 17,133 votes followed by Geoffrey Ssebagala of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party with 5,882 votes, Adrian Sseryazi an independent polled 1,371 votes in third-place while Democratic Party (DP) David Muweera got 1,245 votes in the fourth position while Forum for Democratic Change s (FDC) Sulaiman Ddumba Seriso polled 199 votes.
Other contestants in the race were Mickdad Lutaaya an independent who got 176 votes, Gonzaga Matovu 39 votes, Abel Rashid Mukwaya also who was an independent got 27 votes and Ibrahim Kiggundu scored only 19 votes.

Police have vowed to arrest a man who duped his wife and led her into debt after she borrowed money to secure his release yet he was behind the whole faked kidnap plot.
