Soured Dough: Cohoes Man Stole $1K in Lottos as Clerk Made Him Pr

A Cohoes man must be feeling a bit sour - and surely salty -  after his attempt to steal $1,000 dollars worth of lottery tickets at a Cumberland Farms was foiled by area police.  In truth, he almost got away with it, but the clerk was on to his twisted plan. Get our free mobile app According to News Channel 13, the incident happened back on July 7th at the Cumberland Farms, 571 Maple Ave. in Wilton.  That s when police say a 37-year-old man named Mark Hebert came into the store planning to get lucky by looting some lottos. The report stated that Hebert tried to be slick when he asked the Cumberland Farms clerk to heat him up some pretzels.  While the clerk was doing that, Hebert was apparently able to sneak behind the counter and swipe $1K worth of lottery tickets.   He left the store without paying for them, but security cameras caught him in the act, and his plan to take the dough was soured by the eye in the sky.

Man Wins $50,000 In CT State Lottery

Read / Add Comments A group of local residents came away as big winners in the Connecticut State Lottery, including a $50,000 winner. East Hartford resident Juan Orellana was the latest to claim a big prize after cashing in a MEGA Multiplier! ticket to the tune of $50,000 that was sold at Cumberland Farms in Vernon. According to CT Lottery, “when a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer s terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or group presents their winning ticket for claim at CT Lottery Headquarters, the identity of a winner is unknown.”
