A week ago Commack School District attempted to make mask wearing optional for students after the New York State Department of Health changed its official mask recommendations on April 9. But Gov. Cuomo s office overruled the district s decision, that it said was made because the schools were able to maintain the required social distancing necessary.
The rally is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., at Commack High School before the Board of Education holds at 7:30 p.m. meeting.
OOPS: As many of you will be traveling around the state here in the coming weeks, you might want to keep this story in mind if you're heading to certain parts of New York. You have to give this particular guy some points for creativity though.

NEW YORK One school district in New York thought it had found a way to unmask its children in the classroom, but no sooner had they announced masks could come off than the state said, Not so fast.
Commack School District officials on Long Island said an interpretation of the April 9 guidance from the state Department of Health, which said, Six feet of distance is required when eating meals or snacks, or drinking, or other times masks must be removed, meant that masks were not necessary since the district has diligently maintained 6 feet of social distancing for all students.
