PDM to hold steering committee meeting without PPP, ANP today

PPP and ANP have not been invited in the meeting
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) steering committee will be held today; however, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) have not been invited.
The meeting which will be chaired by PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will discuss the anti-government movement, long march and resignations from the assemblies.
It merits mention that PPP has resigned from PDM steering committee and Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sherry Rehman and Qamar Zaman Kaira had submitted their resignations to the alliance head.

Just when you think Pakistan’s politics could not get any more embarrassing, some politician will decide to surprise you by stooping to a new low. Recently, Faisal Vawda, the federal minister for water resources decided to place a military style boot on the table during a political talk show in an attempt to theatrically mock the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Admittedly, politics does involve a certain degree of theatrics the world over, but in Pakistan, it is purely melodramatic. Issues of genuine significance are rarely discussed and most politicians do little more than point fingers, accusing each other of being corrupt liars.

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday gave the PPP and the ANP one more chance to review their decision of parting ways with the opposition alliance, a private TV channel reported him as saying at a press conference here.
“The Pakistan People’s Party and Awami National Party can still review their resignations and return to PDM,” Fazl said while talking to media persons in Islamabad alongside other leaders of the alliance, including PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ahsan Iqbal, following a meeting of the PDM. “The PDM was not formed so that we bicker over one position or the other. ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Tuesday that dictation from any party or group was indigestible.
Briefing media persons after the federal cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the minister said a party or a group can present their demands in a democratic way upon which negotiations can be held.
Replying to a question regarding TLPâs demands, Fawad Hussain said decision-making could not be left to any party or group. When his attention was drawn to violence and agitation in various parts of Pakistan, the minister emphasised that things would be fine soon.
