Hippy vibes part of Gastonia small business event Saturday
More than 30 small businesses will set up shop Saturday peddling everything from custom T-shirts to homemade soaps to coffee as part of a Community Vendor Fest.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 15 at 3734 E. Franklin Blvd., in the former Pier One parking lot in Franklin Square across from Kohl s.
Organizers say the event will help small businesses hit hard by the pandemic shutdown while also giving the community a chance to shop local and have a good time. We wanted to do something that had all of the community involved, said Karamie Sale, owner of the Karamie Collective, which sells custom T-shirts, mugs and other items. We want everyone from our town, no third parties, so we decided to host one of the first events around here with all locally-made products, hippy vibes and different cultures collaborating.
