The Glen Cove Fire Department’s former fire truck, Ladder 5211, has arrived in Dublin, Ireland. (Glen Cove Fire Department)
DUBLIN, IRELAND A beloved firetruck from Long Island got a warm Irish welcome on Monday as it arrived in Dublin, Ireland, where it was greeted by members of the Dublin Fire Brigade which provided an escort to its new home with a collector who shows vehicles at charity events.
Trusty Ladder 5211, which helped bring multiple people to safety in a dramatic rescue from a 1993 apartment complex fire and stood by after the 9/11 terror attacks, was purchased from the City of Glen Cove by Dublin-based collector Liam Moore, who told Virgin Media News he already has two pumper trucks and wanted a ladder truck to add to his collection.

THE Limerick-based student radio station Wired FM is marking 25 years on air this Friday.
Located at Mary Immaculate College and Limerick Institute of Technology, the station is broadcasting a schedule of special programmes throughout the day looking back on the past quarter of a century, as well looking forward to what the future holds for the student radio station.
From 12pm, Wired FM will feature a wide range of guests, including a whole host of MIC and Wired FM alumni who will be sharing their memories of their time at the station.
Video footage from the event shows multiple Gardaà approaching an estimated 30 or so protestors to remove them from the loading bay.
Jane Crowe, one former Debenhams worker who was in attendance on Thursday night, told Virgin Media News that she was forcibly carried off the premises, resulting in her undergarments being broken. We were forcibly lifted up, I was carried out, and while they were carrying me out, my jacket came off over my head, my jumper came off over my head, I was left with no clothes from the waist up, she said.
