After months of lobbying to protect a 36-acre swath of land along the Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail, activists could see the project funded Tuesday if the Volusia County Council votes in their favor Tuesday.
The council is set to vote on whether to spend nearly $1 million to buy the land from a developer, and given the ECHO Advisory Committee s unanimous April 1 vote to recommend the majority of money be drawn from the ECHO fund, supporters of the project are hopeful. I’m optimistic, but I’m still asking people to send emails and come support it, County Chair Jeff Brower said Friday. I take nothing for granted.
