Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah which aired on ITV last week saw the Sussexes explain their side of their royal exit story. The pair said they wanted to take on a more junior role in the Firm last January, and become financially independent but this plan was rejected, and they chose to leave the Royal Family altogether. It was assumed they would settle permanently in Canada, as they had chosen to spend an extended break in the Commonwealth country that November.

A British broadcaster has been forced to edit parts of Prince Harry and Meghan s Oprah interview amid claims the press was being unfairly portrayed as racists towards the couple.
A series of newspaper headlines and articles were shown on screen during the two-hour program to support Prince Harry and Meghan s argument they were the subjects of relentless attacks by the media, many of which they said were based on race.
During the interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, one of the topics they discussed was the intensity of media reporting and how many of the stories were deliberately nasty to Meghan, claiming she was the target of unrelenting, pervasive attacks .
