Good evening to you. “There is no vaccine against a polluted planet.” That was the word today from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as he announced new measures he says will help Canada meet its commitment to the Paris Agreement to fight climate change. Canada to seek input from U S for 988 suicide-prevention hotline

Officials from Canada’s Health Department will rely on input from their U.S. counterparts to implement a national suicide-prevention line that is only three digits long. Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) officials and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) will be tasked with learning more about a “988” number in the U.S. designed to make emergency mental-health services more accessible, a document tabled in the House of Commons this week said. The details come to light just as the House unanimously passed a motion calling on the government to immediately work with the provinces to establish a single, simple suicide-prevention hotline.
