âWe had a good run,â Patty Vasconi told the Star this week.
âIt was just time to get out,â said Hap Vasconi, her husband and business partner.
The Vasconis sold the business, including its prescription accounts, to Walgreens, but they still own the building. They havenât signed a lease with a new tenant, but they have turned down some offers they felt werenât appropriate for the space that housed one of St. Helenaâs most cherished local-serving businesses.
âWe care about the town,â Patty said. âDo we need another clothing store? Do we need another gallery? Do we need another jewelry store?â

The Australian Government’s $20 million Recreational Fishing and Camping Facilities Program will fund 19 new projects across Tasmania to improve fishing and camping facilities.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said the Program would deliver $20 million nationally over three years.
“This program will deliver new and renewed infrastructure for our recreational fishing, camping and boating community,” Minister Littleproud said.
“This program delivers on our 2019 election commitment for more fishing opportunities for all Australians.”
