The Georgia Senate runoffs are one week away, and Democrats are reportedly worried about their chances. Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock are running against Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler. While Joe Biden won a narrow (and contested) victory in the presidential race in November, Democrats are right to worry about the Senate runoffs, although Republicans cannot take anything for granted.
Ossoff and Warnock sounded the alarm about their ability to keep pace with GOP spending in the race, calling for a “significant increase” in donations to keep them afloat for the next week.

When thousands rallied in the nation s capital Dec. 12 with a conviction that the Nov. 3 election had been stolen from President Donald Trump, among those headlining the event were a Texas Catholic bishop, a former papal nuncio to the U.S., several priests and a prominent Catholic pro-life leader.
Four days later, the conservative advocacy organization Catholic Vote sent out an email under the headline President-Suspect, saying that while Joe Biden is the president-elect on paper … that means nothing until the votes cast by the electoral college are opened by a joint session of Congress on January 6.
MARIETTA â For anti-abortion voters, the Jan. 5 runoff elections in Georgia may be the last line of defense against the Democratic pro-choice agenda.
That was the message at a âGet Out the Pro-Life Voteâ rally held in Marietta on Dec. 19, where speakers called on Republicans to support U.S. Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.
The rally, organized by Catholic Vote, was held outside of the Planned Parenthood at 220 Cobb Parkway in Marietta. Waving âVote Pro Lifeâ placards, well over a hundred supporters thronged around a small tent and heard speeches from prominent anti-abortion activists.
The event was led by Mary Thomas, a former U.S. House of Representatives candidate from Tallahassee. Thomas said the rally was a âpowerful exhortation that we must get out to vote.â

For the ninth time in six months, the Trump administration is preparing to put a federal prisoner to death.
Brandon Bernard, 40, is due to be executed Thursday evening at the U.S. Penitentiary Terre Haute in Indiana, as punishment for the murder of a young couple in Texas in 1999. The Justice Department plans another federal execution later this month, with three more scheduled in January.
In a statement on the resumption of federal executions after a 17-year hiatus, Attorney General William Barr said the death penalties were justified because the people sentenced to die had been convicted of horrific crimes.
