A former scout leader has been returned for trial accused of 27 sexual offences against nine boy scouts in Cork city.
David Barry (72) had been charged last month with 26 counts of indecent or sexual assault on eight boys and one count of attempted indecent assault on a ninth boy at locations in Cork on various dates between 1986 and 2005.

A FORMER Scout leader charged with 27 sex offences will be tried by a judge and jury, a court heard today.
David Barry appeared before Cork District Court in December where he was charged with 26 counts of indecent or sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent assault.

The charges allege that the 72-year-old retired businessman either indecently or sexually assaulted eight boys and attempted to indecently assault a ninth boy at an address in Cork.
