Cory Morse | MLive.com Facebook Share There’s been a significant drop in the number of hospitalizations and deaths over the past week. “I’m feeling like we’re getting it under control,” Kathy Moore, public health director for Muskegon County, told MLive. The county had seen weeks of hospitalizations numbering at least 40 and those on ventilators averaging nearly 20. But on Thursday, Jan. 28, Mercy Health reported 21 hospitalized COVID patients, six of them on ventilators.

Gretchen Whitmer announced Jan. 13 Michigan restaurants would not be permitted to resume offering indoor dining  on Jan. 15 Toast N Jams owner Mark Boertman was left in a difficult position. Boertman already made preparations for his restaurant to ramp up from take out only to dine in service. Those plans included ordering the extra supplies needed to serve what he was expecting to be a rush of customers. 

Councillor / CAO dispute ends in RCMP action

    Shortly thereafter, Granstrom called the meeting to recess while asking the City Clerk to call the RCMP to remove Charlton from Chambers.  During the 45 minute recess before the RCMP showed up, Charlton pulled out a book to pass the time while members of the media gallery, as well as other councillors, exchanged unimpressed looks related to the delay.     Councilor Charlton has not answered calls or e-mails from the Telegraph since the incident to get his reaction and side of the story. In that lack of clarification, the actual memo dated February 9th is a mystery to City CAO Victor Kumar. In searching back through his documents the only potential memo he notes sending to council on the 9th was one regarding the City Parcel Tax Roll committee.

Just two-hours late, but a missed ordering deadline that cost Muskegon County Public Health a one-week supply of vaccine.  The amount of doses that would have been delivered by the state to the health department this week is unknown. What is know is the state didn t send any new doses of vaccine to the health department this week.
