Qatar has recorded a merchandise trade balance surplus (difference between total exports and imports) of QR39.9bn in the first quarter of this year, up from QR33.6bn in the first quarter (Q1) of 2020, according to data released by Planning and Statistics Authority.
Qatar’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) witnessed a marginal increase of 0.06 percent in April compared to previous month (March 2021), reaching at 97.24 points.

Doha: The Government Communications Office (GCO) has said that since 2008 Qatar has mediated many key regional and international issues.
“The State of Qatar continually contributes to diplomatic efforts to mediate between various factions, entities, and states in the interest of international peace and security, and has succeeded in restoring diplomatic relations between Somalia and Kenya,” the GCO said in a tweet.
It added in a motion graphic that through its mediation efforts to strengthen international peace and stability, Qatar succeeded in restoring diplomatic relations between Somalia and Kenya.
The graphic, shared with the tweet, reveals that since 2008, Qatar has mediated in more than 10 key regional and international issues.
