HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM DISCOVERY KIT FOR CHILDREN FEATURES FOSSILS AND DINOSAURS FOR MONTH OF MAY

If you’re looking for a fun and educational summer activity for kids, the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley can help. Managing editor Tami Roleff explains how… The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is offering free monthly Discovery Kits for children in second grade and above through July. In May, the kits are dedicated to the study of fossils. In this kit, children will find real fossils for research, a dinosaur skeleton puzzle, an amber craft project, and access to an online portal with many more activities to do from home. Reserve your child’s Discovery Kit by visiting the Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s website, www.hidesertnaturemuseum.org.  Supplies are limited.  Kits will be available for pick-up on Saturday, May 15 only.

Article content Even though you may be staying close to home this summer, the library can keep you busy and active. Once again, Quinte Conservation has provided parking passes for you to borrow. These passes allow you to park at no charge at Conservation Areas including Massassauga Point, Vanderwater, and more. We have included these passes in Adventure Kits, which come with resources to use while you’re out adventuring. Kits include a metal detector, scavenger hunt game and more. Ellen Lea Paine Memorial Nature Fund opens grant applications | News, Sports, Jobs

Apr 28, 2021 KEENE The Adirondack Garden Club is accepting applications for the 2021 Ellen Lea Paine Memorial Nature Fund grants. The fund was established in 2005 to give financial assistance to individuals and nonprofit organizations, including schools, involved in programs whose purpose is to study, protect and enjoy the natural environment within the Adirondack Park. The maximum amount per grant is $1,500. For an application, visit adirondackgardenclub.com or write to Liz Jaques, P.O. Box 58, Keene, NY 12942-0058, or by email to contact@adirondackgardenclub.com. The deadline is June 1 for grants to be awarded no later than June 15. Last year’s awardees were as follows:
