Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], April 28 (ANI): In view of the massive surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday asked the state administration to be prepared to deal with the worst situation just as it plans to deal with natural disasters.
Speaking at a review meeting on the coronavirus situation and its management in the state with senior government officials and District Collectors, the Chief Minister said that the whole country is now going through a serious crisis and health care in major cities and metros is under intense pressure.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the District Collectors to ensure that beds are allotted to coronavirus patient within three hours of making a call. He said that the Collectors should be vigilant on the spurt in the infections, with a focus on the measures to check the spread of the virus.

Police in Hyderabad, over the past few weeks, have identified around 10,000 cases of COVID-19 mask violations through Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras installed across the city. The three commissionerates Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda in the city have ramped up their efforts to fine mask violators through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, as COVID-19 cases in the city began to rise in the last month or so.
There are 375,000 lakh cameras fixed within the Hyderabad district limits and 650,000 cameras installed in the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and the Rachakonda Commissionerates collectively, according to Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali. However, M Narsing Rao in the IT team of Hyderabad City Police told MediaNama that around 2,000 CCTV cameras have been enabled with artificial intelligence under the Greater Hyderabad area to monitor mask violators.

Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP Nasir Durrani passed away due to Covid-19 in Lahore on Monday, police officials confirmed to
Dawn.com.
According to Lahore CCPO spokesperson Rana Arif, Durrani was on ventilator at the Mayo Hospital in Lahore for over a week after developing complications from Covid-19.
Durrani had assumed the office of inspector general of KP Police in 2013. The former police chief was most noted for taking strict action against officers accused of negligence in their duties, including Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and acting Superintendents of Police (SPs), who were removed from service on account of misconduct.
