I am writing to express my gratitude to Superintendent Jordana Harper for her years of service to Greenfield Public Schools and our community.
I was proud to be a member of the Superintendent Search Committee that recommended Superintendent Harper for the position, and I was glad to collaborate with her during my time on the Town Council. I admire her professionalism, depth of knowledge, empathy, integrity, and her commitment to our schools and our students.
Jordana, I wish you the very best in your future position. The community that has the opportunity to work with you next is very lucky, indeed.

GREENFIELD The School Committee has agreed to terms with The Management Solution Inc. for extended services, so it won’t only provide the district with its business manager, but also a lead administrator and two superintendent-licensed consultants until Superintendent Jordana Harper can return to her duties.
Dr. Judy Houle will be the Greenfield School Department’s lead administrator, managing the day-to-day operations at the superintendent level, while Nadine Ekstrom and Allen Himmelberger will serve as consultants.
School Committee Chair Amy Proietti said the agreement is on a month-to-month basis. It will end when Harper who hasn’t been “actively working” for about a month returns to duty. Until then, the new arrangement will cost about $10,000 a month.

GREENFIELD After receiving a petition signed by more than 500 people, the School Committee announced at its regular meeting Wednesday that it will begin looking at options for reopening schools to all students.
The committee received the petition earlier this week, which included signatures from parents, educators and others who want to see children return to in-person learning by April 26.
“I appreciate the folks who are asking for us to move to an in-person model by late April,” School Committee Chair Amy Proietti said. “It’s very important to get students back into school.”
