Rameshwar Sharma, the Protem Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, has been demanding a change in the name of the Idgah Hills area. His contention is that Guru Nanak visited the place 500 years ago and hence the name of the place should be Guru Nanak Tekri. The Sindhi Panchayat had supported Sharma s demand. In a meeting of the Sindhi Panchayat, it was unanimously decided to change the name to Guru Nanak Tekri Panchayat. The Panchayat has now urged the people to write Guru Nanak Tekri instead of Idgah Hills.
