UFC icon Conor McGregor has never shied away from speaking his mind, and is renowned for gleefully badmouthing opponents.
But following his shock loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on Sunday, footage has emerged of a considerably more respectful and gracious McGregor.
The Irish fighter was tipped as the favourite leading into the highly-anticipated rematch in Abu Dhabi, but Poirier stunned the sporting world by relentlessly peppering McGregor s front leg before landing the telling blow in the second round.
And the Victorian Premier himself approves.
“I want to congratulate Mashd N Kutcher for making it into the Hottest 100,” Andrews said in a special message to triple j listeners during Saturday’s countdown.
“I haven’t heard a lot of their work, but this particular song? I’ve heard once or twice.”
The Brisbane duo’s banger samples the now-iconic 2020 moment where Dandrews told Victorians at a March press conference not to congregate and “get on the beers” after pubs had been shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Oh, and a bit of Trump, because #2020.)
