The Quebec-based company Ecosurf is looking to make waves this weekend with the launch of the province’s first electric-powered-surfboard rental company downriver from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu at Quai Ryan de Sabrevois, a mere 40 minutes from Montreal.
Using three different models of electric surfboard from the Spanish manufacturer Onean, the company is looking to provide as many family-friendly experiences as there will be ones for adrenaline junkies.

The boards’ propulsion systems are powered by lithium-ion batteries, making them silent and controlled by a Bluetooth bracelet.
