Marana Visitor Center moves to Municipal Complex, earns state designation

If this month is any indication, local tourism is on its way back to becoming the thriving industry it once was. On Feb. 9, the Town of Marana announced that the Marana Visitor Center has finished moving into its new location near the Municipal Complex, located at 13251 N. Lon Adams Road, the same address as the Marana Chamber of Commerce. “We can now serve our visitors better, because we have a nicer, newer facility. It’s more comfortable and there’s amenities right across the street, if people want to park, ask for directions or find out where their journey is headed next,” said Laura Cortelyou, tourism and marketing manager for the Town of Marana. “We couldn’t offer all that before.”

During that meeting, council member Joyce Jones-Ivy also voted against the proposed rezoning. However, the density, the other was because of apartments and the last was looking at this as a commerci

Bank of America expands homeownership loans, grants

Though Tucson’s residential real estate market is faring better than many expected at the onset of the pandemic, the majority of prospective homeowners say they need assistance with the down payment on their home. In response, Bank of America is expanding their Community Homeownership Commitment, which is a loan and grant program that helps individuals and families purchase a home. The Commitment was first introduced in 2019, but Bank of America recently announced they are tripling the initiative’s funding from $5 billion to $15 billion to help 60,000 people buy homes through 2025. So far, the initiative has helped more than 21,000 individuals and families, and provided $180 million in grants for down payments and closing costs.
