The decision was made on Wednesday at a special school board meeting. Funding for the projects was included in the district s Fiscal Year 2021-22 budget, which the board also approved Wednesday.
Board member Justin Centanni, representing District 6, says the money is already assigned to each project, and now each school will be assigned an architect to start outlining the future of each of the schools.
HENDERSON, Ky. Henderson city officials said they re taking a conservative approach to finances as they work toward a 2021-2022 Fiscal Year budget.
During a two-hour special-called meeting Tuesday, city commissioners were presented the proposed $78 million budget, which is a roughly $3.4 million increase over the 2020-2021 budget.
The panel will vote whether to approve the budget at future meetings.
City Manager Buzzy Newman started Tuesday s budget presentation by saying, The process followed the same as we did last year. We had some of the same challenges with pensions and healthcare rising costs. We again asked our department heads to be very conservative, but mindful of how important their operations are to the city. With the cooperation of Finance Director Robert Gunter and department heads, I believe another successful budget has been put together.
