Plans revealed to demolish shop on Main Street of Blessington

Blessington Educate Together National School wants to build a new single-storey temporary standalone prefab containing a new classroom.
A planning application has been submitted to Wicklow County Council for the works on Red Lane.
Also being proposed are two special education rooms and sanitary facilities.
The estimated construction value of the project is over €131,000 according to construction industry database Construction Information Services.
The total floor area of the development will be around 100 square metres to the rear of existing school building.

Meanwhile a planning application has been submitted for the demolition of existing 20 square metre single-storey retail unit on the Main Street of the town.
Council gives green light to convert farm stable into holiday homes

Planning permission has been granted by Kildare Co Council to convert farm buildings into holiday homes.
Approval was sought to change the use of a farm stable and coach house into five holiday dwelling units at Bishopsland House in Ballymore Eustace.
The holiday homes proposed would comprise of three two-bedroom units and two three-bedroom units.
The planning application stated that a new internal road and wastewater treatment system will be built.
The estimated construction cost of the project is around €350,000, according to construction information database, Construction Information Services.
LATEST: Naas hotel gets green light for multi-floor extension

A Naas hotel has been given the green light for a multi-floor extension.
The way is cleared for the Maudlins House Hotel on the Dublin Road to build a six-floor extension comprising of 70 aparthotel rooms.
The estimated construction value of the project is €7.3m, according to construction industry database, Construction Information Services.
A planning application for the works was submitted to Kildare County Council in March by Clane Inn Limited.
Each floor will include a meeting room with a single-storey pedestrian link bridge/walkway to the existing hotel building.
According to planning documents, the existing Maudlins House Hotel entrance and frontage to the Dublin Rd will remain unchanged.
Kildare nursing home planning €1m extension with new rooms and drug store

A nursing home in Naas has submitted a planning application to Kildare County Council for an extension.
Craddock House Nursing Home on the Craddockstown Road is planning a first floor rear extension measuring 343 square metres by constructing on top of a single storey building.
The proposed project will comprise of four single bedrooms and two twin rooms, all with en suites.
Also in the designs is a new nurses station, a drug store and a linen store.
A 9.5 square-metre two-storey emergency escape stairwell is included.
The estimated construction value of the project is just under €1m, according to construction industry database Construction Information Services.
18-month school project costing €5m starts in Newbridge

Works have begun on a €5m project for the refurbishment and extension of school buildings in Newbridge.
Builders and machinery are on site at St Conleth’s Infant School and St Conleth & Mary’s Primary School on the Naas Road.
Dozens of new classrooms, facilities for special needs students and an outdoor sensory garrden are among the elements of the major face-lift.
Works are expected to take in the region of 18 months to complete, according to construction industry database, Construction Information Services.
Construction has begun on temporary 20 classrooms spanning 1,600 square metres in area which will be removed on completion of the development.
