Now, with the easing of coronavirus restrictions, it has been decided to change the approach, opening the doors of the centre and moving to a weekly walk-in service, starting from Tuesday, June 8. People living in Whitton, Whitehouse or Castle Hill who feel this would help them can go along and make a personal choice of the items they need.

The show rolls on

The show rolls on The local food bank continues to serve those who come to us. We see many families and on a Tuesday almost as many children as adults. In February and March we had more than 800 beneficiaries. To feed this many on an emergency basis we have needed to increase our spending from our reserves on produce. We have benefited from collecting from the Haringey Food Network Hub, though the non perishable food delivered by Fare Share is now ending. Fresh food is available such as fruit and vegetables as well as eggs and bread so we will make more use of this. However, it has pushed us to have our first Morrisons bulk buy delivery this week.
