WEYMOUTH, Mass. School personnel, elected officials, community members and representatives of BOND Building Construction, Inc. gathered recently for a topping-out ceremony that celebrated completion of the structural steel frame for the new Maria Weston Chapman Middle School. People cheered as the last steel beam was lowered into place, with the gathered distanced and wearing masks to ensure safety protocols were observed.
But before the new school could be built, the former Maria Weston Chapman Middle School, which was built in 1961, had to be demolished on the same footprint from which would spring the new school. Everything at the site except for the gymnasium, which is being renovated, was razed. GATINEAU, QC, May 21, 2021 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada is revitalizing the Parliamentary Precinct, preserving it for all Canadians, ensuring it meets the needs of a 21st-century Parliament and making it greener, safer and more accessible.
Today, the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, officially launched the architectural design competition to redevelop Block 2, the city block facing Parliament Hill and surrounded by Wellington, Sparks, Metcalfe and O Connor streets.
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) invited 12 firms that qualified through a competitive process to participate in the competition. This is the first stage of a competition that will ultimately transform this mix of aging buildings into an innovative complex that will create a balance between heritage, accessibility, security and sustainability. Jimmy Moses and Rett Tucker of Little Rock, commercial real estate partners who led the creation of the River Market District, have sold the seven-story Arkansas Capital Commerce Center at 200 River Market Ave. for $8.5 million.
Newmark Moses Tucker Partners of Little Rock, which manages the property and brokered the sale, announced the deal Wednesday.
Moses and Tucker s 3rd & Commerce LLC sold the property to a pair of groups, Rodney Parham CK LLC and Broadway CK LLC. The new owners include Chris Moses, who is Jimmy Moses son and CEO of Newmark Moses Tucker.
The concept, which will be located on 1050 N Mills Ave, will merge Pig Floyd’s savory flavors from the barbacoa and fusion them with traditional Italian flavors of pizza, but with an artisan twist.
