North Korea Is Getting Nearly 2 Million Coronavirus Vaccines

North Korea Is Getting Nearly 2 Million Coronavirus Vaccines The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not buy that North Korea has really managed to remain coronavirus-free. The North Korean regime has claimed since last year, rather implausibly, that the country has had no cases of the coronavirus. But soon, North Korea will receive some coronavirus vaccine. According to a report Thursday by the Yonhap News Agency, which cited the vaccination organization COVAX Facility, COVAX will distribute 1.992 million doses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine in the first half of 2021. North Korea is believed to have a population of about 25.8 million.

The US and South Korea must cooperate on policy toward North Korea

Daily NK 2021.02.01 2:05pm It is becoming more and more clear who the Biden administration is choosing to fill its diplomatic posts. The diplomatic lineup includes hardliners who have dealt with North Korean policy in the past and are intimately familiar with the nature of the North Korean regime. This will likely create friction with South Korea’s appeasement policy toward North Korea.  The new US administration officially announced the outlines of its North Korea policy for the first time on Jan. 22. Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, stated that the US “still has a vital interest in deterring North Korea” and that they will “adopt a new strategy.” The comments expressed the new administration’s willingness not to repeat the Trump era’s mistakes. The comments showed the Biden administration’s desire to diverge policy-wise from its predecessor, not only in its approach to the denuclearization issue but also in its overall policy toward North

Kim Jong Un s true intentions were revealed through the anti-reactionary thought law

2021.01.29 1:35pm Kim Jong Un presented his “people-first policy” as the fundamental principles of socialism at the Eighth Party Congress which was held for eight days in North Korea since Jan. 5. He also emphasized that people should be regarded with the utmost importance. However, these kind of concepts are nothing more than slogans that are used to control the public and evoke a sense of loyalty. Kim Jong Un’s true intentions were revealed when he enacted the anti-reactionary thought law last year. Authors Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Alastair Smith pointed out in their book, The Dictator’s Handbook, that a dictator is someone who hates freedom. Their reasoning is because if you allow freedom, then the people will recognize each other’s suffering and easily cooperate in antigovernmental demonstrations. This same analysis can also be applied to Kim Jong Un because the people’s freedom can be a threat to one’s rank. If outside information gets in (to North Korea) an

North Korea confirms development of hypersonic missiles

Daily NK North Korea confirms development of hypersonic missiles Reports coming out of the Eighth Party Congress confirm several stories Daily NK has covered over the past year 2021.01.12 1:50pm In his report to the Eighth Party Congress held from Jan. 5 to 7, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said North Korea is “conducting research into perfecting the guidance technology for multi-warhead rockets at the final stage,” according to the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA).  The “guidance technology for multi-warhead rockets” Kim mentioned seems to refer to multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV) technology. Usually, a single ballistic missile carries a single warhead. When a missile carries multiple warheads, it is called a multiple reentry vehicle (MRV). MIRVs take this one step further. All of the warheads in an MRV follow the same trajectory, while a MIRV’s warheads can be directed at different targets.

North Korea forms new research center focused on hypersonic missiles

Daily NK North Korea forms new research center focused on “hypersonic missiles” The center has been ordered to conduct “full-fledged development of hypersonic guided missiles and shipboard laser weapons,” a source told Daily NK 2021.01.06 2:41pm As part of the country’s efforts to develop cutting-edge weapons, North Korea has recently opened a new research center under the Academy of National Defense Science to study hypersonic missiles, Daily NK has learned.  Able to travel at over Mach 5, hypersonic missiles are a next-generation weapon that can theoretically hit any place on the planet within three hours. Unlike conventional ballistic missiles, hypersonic missiles do not follow a simple ballistic trajectory. Accordingly, military experts count them among the major weapons that will change the face of future warfare.
