A teenager has been arrested in relation to a serious assault on a woman in Dublin on Wednesday night.
The woman sustained serious injuries in the assault on the pedestrian walkway between Georges Dock and Custom House Quay in the IFSC, and was taken to the Mater Hospital for surgery.
Gardai say a juvenile has been arrested and is currently detained at Store Street Garda station where they can be held for up to 24 hours.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in relation to a brutal stab attack which led to a 48-year-old woman requiring life-saving surgery after she was stabbed in the neck.
The teenager is being questioned today by detectives at Store Street Garda Station after his arrest last night.
He is from the capital’s north inner city and despite his young age has had previous interactions with gardai.
The woman who is originally from an Asian county remains in a critical condition in the Mater Hospital.
She is a mother of at least two children and has been living in Dublin for a number of years.

A person on a bicycle is believed to have approached the woman and demanded cash, before fleeing towards the quays empty handed

Juvenile arrested in connection with vicious attack where woman was robbed and stabbed in neck in Dublin

A JUVENILE has been arrested in connection with a vicious attack and robbery of a woman in Dublin.
The victim, 48, was on her way home when she was allegedly targeted by a youth on a bike close to the CHQ building in the city centre around 9.30pm on Wednesday night.
