ABBA S Waterloo has been voted the best Eurovision song entry of all time, according to research.
A study of 2,000 adults found the Swedes’ legendary hit - which also gave the band their first number one in the UK chart – was most popular with 50 per cent of respondents.

However, the top 10 is dominated with UK hits, and Making your Mind Up by Bucks Fizz is preferred by a third of adults.
Save your Kisses for Me by Brotherhood of Man took third place, while Cliff Richard’s ‘Congratulations’ came fourth.

Abba performs Waterloo in 1974
We could not kick this list off without starting with one of the greatest performances to ever grace the Eurovision stage. Eurovision had always been popular but it was Abba that lifted it into the pop culture stratosphere with their performance that gave Sweden their first-ever win in the contest.
Abba, of course, went on to become one of the biggest groups in the world and their hits remain part of the cultural zeitgeist to this day with stage shows and two movies made based off of their hit songs â and there is every chance a third movie will come along after the success of the second.

Blind Channel will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam

Finland tunes in to Blind Channel

Metal band Blind Channel have won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) Finland’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, with their song Dark Side . The group will now compete against 40 other acts in Rotterdam.
Speaking to Eurovision.tv shortly after their victory, Blind Channel told us:
We can’t wait to play to hundreds of millions of people, so we can turn them to the dark side too! We’re gonna have one night of perfection tonight, because when Monday comes we have to get back to the grind to make sure we deliver the best show in Rotterdam that we can!
