Briefs: Marion Tech awards degrees to 334 graduates Marion Star Marion Technical College awards degrees to 334 graduates MARION - In a drive-thru ceremony, Marion Tech recently honored 334 graduates at its 49th annual commencement. The graduates receiving 286 associate degrees and 128 certificates came from 23 Ohio counties and two states. They ranged in age from 17 to 60. They included seven veterans and 33 high school students who received college degrees at no cost to them through the College Credit Plus program. Many of the families came to celebrate with their graduates on May 14 in cars, trucks, limos and even a party bus filled with children, spouses, parents and grandparents. Randy Gardner, chancellor of the Ohio Higher Education Department, and State Rep. Tracy Richardson presented diplomas to the graduates.
