PICA to offer temporary residency to foreign nationals – Chang

This is according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr Horace Chang. 

Jamaica could soon offer one-year temporary residency to foreign nationals

December 19, 2020 Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Courtney Williams, Chief Executive Officer at the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), Andrew Wynter and Minister of National Security Dr. Horace Chang, in discussion following the opening of PICA’s Regional Office in Montego Bay. Foreign nationals may soon be able to obtain a one-year temporary residency in Jamaica, through the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA). Speaking on Friday at the opening ceremony for a new PICA office at the Fairview Plaza, Montego Bay, St. James, Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang, noted that an increase in travel to the island will be expected post COVID-19, and while people try to decipher where to live in a pivoting world, PICA will be putting plans in place, to provide an opportunity for foreigners to be able to live, and work in Jamaica for one year.
