SULU: Another Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) group declared persona non grata against all Abu Sayyaf terrorists in the Municipality of Kalingan Caluang here Tuesday.
The persona on grata pronouncement is a clear manifrstation that MNLF group led by commander Ali Julkipli is one with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in establishing and maintaining peace and order in the municipality.
Julkipli signed a peace covenant with the Marine Battalion Landing Team 7 in a simple yet unque ceremony held in the military camp Tuesday.

Commander Lt. Col. Eduard Olaso signed the covenant on behalf of fhe government and was presided and witnessed by Col. Hernanie Songano and Mayor Hurshamier Halun.
Published January 22, 2021 8:54am A former Abu Sayyaf member allegedly involved in illegal drugs was killed during an combined police-military operation on Thursday in Sapa, Tawi-Tawi, the military said Friday. The Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) identified the suspect as Riyadzkan Tamyang Maulana. The operation was conducted by troops from the Marine Battalion Landing Team and Sapa-Sapa Municipal Police Station in Barangay Poblacion. “Based on the report from the ground, Maulana was a former member of the ASG/KFRG (kidnap-for-ransom-group) under Salip Murah Asgali and Majan Sahijuan, also known as Apo Mike. He already surrendered to Sapa-Sapa MPS last February 20, 2019, but continued with his illegal drug trade,” WestMinCom chief Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr. said.

AFP-WestMinCom Commander Lt Gen Corleto Vinluan, Jr. identified Friday, December 25, the former ASG gunman as Barri Lakibol, also known as Barley Badeng, Otoh Itom and Robin, 44, and a a resident of Barangay Silubog, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
Lakibol turned himself in at the headquarters of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 12 in Barangay Nalil, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday afternoon, December 23.
“Based on our records, Lakibol was involved in the kidnapping of 21 hostages, including European nationals and other foreigners at Sipadan Island in April 2000,” Vinluan said
He was also involved in the abduction of a certain Father Almeda, Vinluan added.

Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy, presided over the joint change of command and retirement ceremony held at the Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City last Friday.
Bacordo expressed confidence that the Marines will be able to sustain its operational gains under the leadership of Caculitan, whom he described as “an accomplished and highly-skilled Marine officer.”
Caculitan belongs to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Makatao” Class of 1989 and has several top notch awards under his name.
He graduated on top of his class at the AFP Command and General Staff Course Class 45 in 2007. He also earned the “Best Flying Award” as a naval aviator and an awardee of the 2015 “Ten Outstanding Filipino Soldiers” by the Metrobank Foundation.
