BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The National Aquarium is rehabilitating a seal pup rescued off the coast of Cape Henlopen, Delaware last month.
Experts estimate the pup to be less than one month old. After being taken to the Marine Education Research and Rehabilitation Institute in Lewes, Delaware, the pup was taken to the National Aquarium’s Animal Care and Rescue Center on Valentine s Day. The new patient has been nicknamed Eloise.
When she arrived, Eloise was malnourished with a few cuts on her neck. She was initially hydrated and fed through an oral feeding tube, but as the team continued to work with her, Eloise quickly progressed to the next stage in her rehabilitation.
