U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Friday imposed a new import ban on seafood from a Chinese fishing fleet that the agency says is using forced labor on its 32 vessels, including abuses against many Indonesian workers.
US Bans Seafood Imports From Chinese Fleet That Engages in ‘Modern Slavery’
U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Friday banned a Chinese fishing company from selling seafood products in the United States over concerns that the firm was treating migrant workers like slaves.
The agency said it will immediately start seizing tuna, swordfish, and other seafood products from Dalian Ocean Fishing Co., Ltd., at all U.S. ports of entry, citing U.S. federal law, which prohibits shipments linked to slave or child labor. The ban also extends to products that contain seafood, such as canned tuna and pet food, according to a CBP official.

Fill a soup pot half full with cold water and place on it medium heat. Add a bouillon cube or bouillon paste and dissolve into heating water.
Sauté onion that has been cut into rings or half-rings. Add celery that has been cut crosswise into crescents across the whole celery heart roughly seven cuts, about 1/4-inch wide. Add some seasoning of salt and onion powder, so that the flavors bind for the flavor base of the soup. Add onion and celery sauté to the soup when they become softer, but not mushy.
