The Defender TD5 130 chassis cab vehicle was made at Land Rover’s factory in Solihull in 2003, the year he turned 82.
With its heavy-duty wheels and angular structure, the polished sturdy, utilitarian vehicle stands as a showcase for the duke’s practical nature and his passion for functional design and engineering.

As the nation paid tribute to the legacy of Prince Philip, they also remembered a year in which thousands of others suffered similar losses

A minute that encapsulated 99 years of a life lived to the full, and a moment to reflect on so many thousands of others cut short during the pandemic.
As the nation came together for the one minute silence at 3pm Saturday, it was not just to honour the extraordinary legacy of the Duke of Edinburgh, but also to remember a year in which countless families have suffered a similar loss due to Covid-19.
