Perhaps it’s time to dump Donald’s brand.
For years, there had been calls to rename the Trump International Hotel and Tower Vancouver because of controversies involving the now soon-to-be ex-U.S. president.
These have been ignored so far.
Realtor and market observer David Hutchinson wonders if Donald Trump’s name is bad for sales at the residential skyscraper.
“Maybe it needs to be Biden Tower,” Hutchinson joked, referring to incoming American president Joe Biden.
Real-estate site Zealty.ca lists seven condo units at Trump Tower at 1151 West Georgia Street that have yet to find buyers.
A Pacific Beach retail building has been sold for nearly $5.3 million.
Thi Enterprises sold the building at 1261-1269 Garnet Ave. to New Coast Realty, LLC.
The Franco Realty Group represented both parties.
Space in the 6,750 square-foot building is leased to three businesses - Barrel Republic, San Diego Tap Room, and PaperDoll, according to Tony Franco, president of The Franco Group.
Franco said the deal was among the largest sale of retail property in Pacific Beach in 2020.

For a dollar less than two million, one can purchase a piece of Vancouver history.
The property for sale is home to an iconic neigbourhood grocery believed to have been in business for more than a century.
Not only is Vernon Drive Grocery one of the oldest surviving stores in the city.
An online site has described the grocery as the most photographed neighbourhood corner store in Vancouver.
“If you happen to stop by the store around sunset you could be transported back in time to Fred Herzog s Vancouver when corner stores and their colourful signage where everywhere,” according to a 2017 post by Storefront Vancouver.
