The Davistown Museum is a tool, art, and regional history museum with two physical locations in Maine and a website, rich with resources. Its main building is in Liberty, while its office and a sculpture garden are in Hulls Cove (Bar Harbor). The primary mission of the museum is the recovery, display, and interpretation of hand tools used in Maine and New England s maritime culture. It serves as an important clearinghouse for information on the history of hand tools and their roles in the early industries of Maine and New England and offers an extensive exhibit of hand tools in Liberty and online. The Museum also provides a forum for contemporary Maine artists to exhibit their work, creating a unique environment that juxtaposes tools, as both historical and sculptural objects, with a wide diversity of art forms. FRIENDSHIP Kenneth A. “Ken” Simmons, 91, of Friendship, died peacefully at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta on March 11, 2021.
Ken was born on April 14, 1929 in Rockland to Mertland and Florence Simmons. He graduated from high school in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. He achieved the rank of Corporal and received the Presidential Unit Citation. After the war, Ken attended the Academy of Aeronautics in New York.
Ken owned and operated Simmons Garage in Friendship for many years until he retired. He enjoyed working on cars and airplanes as a volunteer at the Owls Head Transportation Museum. He was a past member of the Stone-Scott-Watson V.F.W. Post #3095 in Friendship.

Take for example, right along route 73 in South Thomaston you’ll find the ‘Keag Store. If you’ve never been to the store it is pronounced ‘gig’ as the sign says. It is a convenience store as well as a place where the locals either dine in or take out. They offer offer plenty of different breakfast choices that are down right unique as well as delicious from cranberry walnut pancakes to fish hash and everything in between. If you come by around lunch they also have multiple offerings from the grill, fried seafood and my ole stand by. fresh dough pizza.
