EAMA awards launch ceremony in December 2020
Rwandans operating businesses through the Mombasa Port located on the Indian ocean in Kenya, stand a chance to win the second East Africa Maritime Awards (EAMA), officials of Kenya Ports Authority have said.
The awards scheduled to take place on May 21, 2021 in Mombasa, Kenya, will recognize business operations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) which use the Port of Mombasa.
The awards come at a time when countries in the region have shown resilience under the current COVID-19 pandemic which initially in May 2020 affected business transactions in the region due to disagreements over uniform measures to curb the pandemic across borders.

Evidential (Manchester based) has produced EVITA, a major incident VR training platform that equips police officers with essential soft and hard skills. Backed by £1.3 million Innovate UK funding, Evidential has also developed another product, Golden Hour that uses AR to improve the preservation of crime scenes.
Helping luxury retail during the pandemic
Emperia (London based) is creating virtual reality experiences that boost sales and customer engagement for businesses in art and luxury fashion. Improving the way that products can be seen online in 3D, Emperia is working with more than 25 clients, including Maddox Gallery and Skarstedt, to bring the physical experience into the virtual world.

Brenda Elaine Wells, 72, of Bowling Green, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband, daughter and granddaughters.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Terri Guillott-Botts officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Ashley.
Brenda was born on May 29, 1948 in Mexico, the daughter of Harry Bare and L. Onema (Gipson) Brown. On July 29, 1979 in Mexico, she married Jimmie L. Wells.
Brenda was a wonderful wife, mom and grandmama and her family always came first, in all that she did in her life. She also had a very successful real estate career for over 40 years. She started with Century 21 in Mexico and then moved to Bowling Green in 1979. There she sold for Century 21 Hays and Wells, which later became The Wells Group. She received numerous r
