The North Pacific is ready to pull us all back in. (Not that we ever really left.) Over the past couple weeks, we documented North Pacific Overdrive back-to-back-to-back-to-back North Pacific swells with realtime coverage from Pipeline, Mav’s, and countless other breaks. When it felt like things were coming back to reality, our coverage went into semi-retirement but the Pacific basin isn’t done flexing yet. (And yes we’ll be documenting this one in realtime, too. Stay tuned.)

Back in the beginning of December, the North Pacific finally raised its head from its summer sleep and roared into the West Coast and Hawaii. And while it started slow, the winter season all at once kicked off with a bang. It was ON, from Oregon to NorCal to Maui and Oahu. And Jaws, on December 2nd, saw the best day of the season so far by far.

As is often the case, November started a bit slow on the North Shore. (Except for Lucas Godfrey, who was on fire.) As soon as December started, though, the North Pacific decided to come back to life in a very meaningful way. Which meant that Pipeline saw days of pumping surf. Which meant, in turn, that O’Neill Wave of the Winter entries started flooding in five of which are highlighted below.
